| Notes - SAMPARC, Social Action for Manpower Creation, is an NGO, established with the sole purpose of women and child development in Maharashtra, Gujarat and West Bengal states. We rehabilitate and educate poor, destitute and needy children of sex-workers, prisoners, orphans, earthquake victims, etc. Apart from this, SAMPARC ventured into rural development activities such as Vocational Training, Women Empowerment, Woman & Child Health Care, Agriculture, and Community Development programmes. SAMPARC is committed to provide complete education to underprivileged children in addition to rehabilitation so that their future is built on a strong foundation, enabling them to maximize their potential and transform their lives to make them responsible citizens. We believe that educational and cultural change in the minds of the people and community leads to a change in the society. The children are the future of the nation, thus it is necessary to invest for their growth and development of families. In our attempt to help the society - 1) We provide our children asylum and parental care in a family environment. 2) We give proper facilities for education, special coaching and extra-curricular activities. 3) We provide a suitable platform to improve their talents by capacity building and organization development. 4) We provide necessary healthcare to our children as well as to the village community through various methods. 5) We conduct Community Development programmes for upliftment of Village women and School Dropouts by Special Training.. 6) We motivate people to contribute towards building a society where every individual becomes self-reliant and independent to maintain own status and dignity. We have realised from our activities over the last 16 years that there are hundreds and thousands of destitute children who are deprived of the basic necessities of life and yearn for a little love and care. So it is our endeavour to care for them with the help of like-minded people and organizations and we shall continue to remain a channel that connects such people to a child in need. SAMPARC was awarded by the Government of India with its prestigious National Award for Child Welfare in 1997-98. Also, Jayantrao Tilak Smruti Award - 2006 was conferred to SAMPARC in January 2006 by The Kesari Mahratta Trust (Founded by Lokmanya Tilak in 1881), Pune. |
